Murder, Manslaughter and Other Serious Crime

Overview

Since becoming a QC in 1993 Paul Dunkels has prosecuted and defended in all types of serious crime, including cases of murder, manslaughter, fraud, drugs importation and supply and sexual offences. He has been involved in prosecuting and defending many cases in which an infant has suffered a sudden and unexpected death. He has dealt with many murder cases, dealing with issues of causation, diminished responsibility, loss of control, self-defence and battered wife syndrome. He has dealt with a number of murder cases where the body has not been found. He has been instructed to appear in a variety of gross negligence manslaughter cases.

He has prosecuted frauds for the Serious Fraud Office and has dealt with High Yield Investment Programme frauds, carousel frauds and money laundering.

Corporate Manslaughter, Health and Safety and Regulatory Offences

Overview

Paul Dunkels has been instructed in Gross Negligence Manslaughter and Health and Safety Offences cases involving a tractor driver, the proprietor of a central heating company, the skipper of a boat, a farm owner, a farm manager and the proprietor of an agency supplying HGV drivers.
