Area of Practice:Family Law Barrister
Specialises in family, often instructed in cases involving allegations of sexual abuse or non-accidental injuries. Extensive experience in private law finance cases, including those involving farming and partnership.
I studied law at Queen Mary College at the University of London and am a member of Gray’s Inn. I was called to the Bar in 1982 and became a tenant in chambers in 1984.
I accept instructions in all manner of family cases whether representing professional clients, parents or children I have considerable experience of representing parents with learning difficulties.
I regularly appear in the County Court and High Court as well as in the Family
Proceedings Court.
In both public and private law cases I am often instructed in cases involving allegations of sexual abuse or non-accidental injures, the latter have included insulin poisoning and scalding. I have represented parents in cases where “parental alienation syndrome” has been raised.
Public Law - Children
I am regularly instructed on behalf of Local Authorities, guardians and parents in relation to applications for Care, Supervision, Contact in Care and Placement Orders.
Private Law - Children
I accept instructions in all types of Children Act applications. My experience in residence and contact applications includes cases that have required the appointment of a Guardian
Private Law - Finance
I accept instructions on behalf of privately and publicly funded clients in cases under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 as amended as well as under the Children Act 1989.
I have experience in cases involving farming and partnership and deal with all aspects of such cases, from initial advice to final hearings.
