I was called to the Bar in 1997 and practiced at 3 Temple Gardens in London before joining Walnut House in the summer of 2007. Prior to my career at the Bar I gained degrees in Business Administration and Economics and qualified as an Accountant. I have worked in various companies specialising in marketing, management consultancy and crisis business-rescue operations. My last role in business was as the Managing Director of a group of companies operating in diverse fields of publishing, printing and property. FAMILY LAW: I accept instructions in all aspects of family law, including complex ancillary relief and TOLATA cases. I am regularly instructed in challenging Children Act matters and have undertaken extensive work with Local Authorities in both the South West and London, dealing with all aspects of care proceedings, fact-finding hearings and Adoption Act matters. I believe that my experience in both family and the criminal law assists me greatly in providing a first class service when working for Local Authorities, Guardians and family members alike. CRIMINAL LAW: I accept instructions to act on behalf of the prosecution and defence in all aspects of criminal law. Whilst based in London I was part of a small dedicated team instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service to prosecute allegations brought under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, with particular emphasis on sexual offences involving children; work which I have continued with following my move to the Western Circuit. Additionally, I have been instructed extensively in areas involving allegations of child neglect, shaken baby syndrome and people trafficking. CIVIL LAW: I accept instructions in all matters relating to Employment Law as well as Landlord and Tenant cases and contract disputes. Public Access I am accredited to undertake public access work. |
