I was educated in Cornwall and studied Law at Exeter University, and the Inns of Court School of Law. I then trained in the largest civil common law set of chambers in London. Based in Devon since 2001 I have developed a civil practice, advising and appearing in cases involving Contractual Disputes and Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury, Land, Landlord and Tenant and Professional Negligence. Contractual Disputes and Commercial Litigation I have a broad experience in a wide range of contractual disputes and commercial litigation which includes sale of goods, consumer credit, building disputes, commerical agency, insurance, mortgages, guarantees and promissory notes. Personal Injury I undertake a wide variety of personal injury work which includes industrial accident, clinical negligence, occupational disease and stress, occupiers’ liability, tripping and slipping, road traffic litigation, holiday litigation, local authority based disputes and fatal accidents. I have experience in the Coroner’s Court. In all personal injury and fatal accident matters I act for both claimants (including CFA work) and defendants. I am a member of the Personal Injuries Bar Association. Landlord and Tenant My practice includes litigation and advice on all aspects of landlord and tenant, both commercial and residential. This includes dilapidations, service charges, lease renewals, possession claims etc. I act regularly for both landlords and tenants. Land My property-related work includes co-ownership and trust disputes agreements for lease or sale, restrictive covenants, easements, mortgages and charges, adverse possession, nuisance and trespass. I have experience of the more specialised tribunals, such as the Lands Tribunal and the Adjudicator to the Land Registry. Professional Negligence My professional negligence work has involved solicitors’, surveyors’ and architects’ negligence. I am a member of the Personal Injury Bar Association and the Professional Negligence Bar Association. |
