Areas of Practice:Civil Law and Family Law Barrister

A family and civil practitioner who undertakes work in public and private law children cases, ancillary relief and other family matters with a civil practice including  personal injury, landlord and tenant and contract cases.

I studied politics, philosophy and economics at the University of Oxford before I completed the law conversion course at the University of Exeter. I was awarded a Lord Justice Holker Award by Gray’s Inn for the BVC year and  joined Walnut House in October 2005 having completed a 12 month pupillage in chambers.

I am a member of both the Family Law and the Personal Injury Bar Associations.

Family Law

I accept instructions in all areas of Family Law and I undertake work in both public and private law cases as well as in ancillary relief matters and injunction proceedings. On a regular basis I appear in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court and High Court.

Public Law - Children

I regularly undertake work on behalf of Local Authorities in the south west as well as acting for parents and I have also been instructed on behalf of guardians. I have represented parties in applications for Care, Supervision, and Placement Orders, as well as in contested applications for section 38(6) orders. 

 Private Law - Children

I accept instructions on behalf of both privately and publicly funded parties in all types of Children Act applications, including applications for Special Guardianship Orders.

Private Law - Ancillary Relief

I act on behalf of both privately and publicly funded parties in all types of applications for ancillary relief and regularly appear for parties at First Directions Appointments, Financial Dispute Resolution Hearings and at Final Hearings.

Civil Law

Personal Injury

I accept instructions in all areas of personal injury and have undertaken work on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants in both fast-track and multi-track cases. I accept instructions in cases funded by Conditional Fee Agreements.

Landlord and Tenant

I have been instructed to appear for both landlords and tenants in a variety of housing matters, including cases in which possession is sought on grounds of anti-social behaviour.

Public Access

I am accredited to undertake public access work.
