A crime specialist, appears for Prosecution and Defence in all types of serious crime, whilst maintaining some civil work. Since taking silk in 2002, has been instructed in numerous murder trials, substantial drugs importation trials and fraud prosecutions. A Recorder with a certificate to sit in crime.
I have been in practice as member of Walnut House Chambers since 1976. My practice prior to taking Silk was a mixed criminal/civil practice, including personal injury, licensing and planning work.
Since taking Silk I have specialised in criminal work, both Prosecution and Defence, whilst maintaining some civil work.
Cases of Note:
Representing in a 4 week trial a Winchester Crown Court a partner in a Drivers’ Agency business charged with manslaughter following a fatal accident allegedly caused by deliberate breach of the Drivers’ Hours Regulations.
Representing at Bristol Crown Court the principal Defendant in a £10 million Investment Fraud.
Representing the Prosecution in complex Confiscation proceedings both in Gloucester Crown Court and in the Court of Appeal.
Representing the Prosecution in Truro Crown Court in a substantial business fraud on finance companies and creditors.
Representing the Prosecution in a 3 week high profile Murder trial at Truro Crown Court, resulting in the conviction of the Defendant of the brutal murder of a wholly innocent victim in the course of a burglary.
Appearing in a substantial trial involving the large scale importation of a variety of Class A drugs and ammunition.
Appearing in a death by dangerous driving case in which the Defendant killed an old lady whilst steering through crash barriers at a level crossing. The sentencing appeal forms part of the leading guideline case: (2003) Cr. App. R18
