A crime specialist, appears for Prosecution and Defence in all types of serious crime including fraud and health and safety cases, whilst maintaining some civil work.  Since taking silk in 2002, has been instructed in numerous murder and fraud  trials, and other high profile cases. A Recorder with a certificate to sit in crime, and authorised to try serious sexual offences. 

I have been in practice as member of Walnut House Chambers since 1976. My practice prior to taking Silk was a mixed criminal/civil practice, including personal injury, licensing and planning work.

Since taking Silk I have specialised in criminal work, both Prosecution and Defence, whilst maintaining some civil work.

R-v-W & P. Three month defence trial in a complex cigarette diversion fraud.

R-v-G. Prosecution of substantial fraud on banks and financial companies.

R-v-G. Prosecution of  complex confiscation proceedings in Crown Court and Court of Appeal (20050 EWCA. Crim. 3553.

R-v-E. Defence in a six week trial concerning large-scale importation of Class A drugs.

A v Bracknell Forest Borough Council. Representing claimant, in Court of Appeal and House of Lords (2005) 1 AC 76, in case relating to education negligence and Dyslexia.

R-v-L. Defence of partner in a Drivers' Agency business charged with manslaughter following a fatal accident caused by deliberate breach of Drivers' Hours Regulations.

R-v-B & M. Prosecution of defendants convicted of brutal killing of elderly man in his home.

R-v-S. Defence of principal Defendant in a high profile Cornish murder trial. The victim, who had substantial learning difficulties, was forced over a railway viaduct.

R-v-C-N. Prosecution of Defendant convicted of brutal murder of wholly innocent in the course of a burglary.

R-v-S. Defence, in Crown Court and Court of Appeal, of principal Defendant in £10 million High Yield Investment Fraud. Confiscation appeal reported at (2008) 2.Cr.App.R.(S).101.

R-v-L. Prosecution of a Solictor charged with dishonesty and perverting the course of justice. 

R-v-B. Prosecution of managers of well-known Plymouth nightclub for allowing the premises to be used for the supply of drugs.

R-v-S. Defence of a 20 year old Defendant charged with murder following Bristol street shooting.

R-v-H. Defence in a seven week Bristol murder trial involving complex issues concerning inducements to principal prosecution witness.

R-v-M. Defence of a 55 year old man acquitted of murder of wife's lover grounds of provocation.

R-v-P. Defence, in a high profile Cornish trial, of a 20 year old man acquitted of murder of pensioner on grounds of lack of intent.
